The Intake Coordinator (IC) oversees the intake and orientation of new residents to the program. Duties include screening clients for intake; performing intake assessment; conducting and building positive relations within the community; providing intake of homeless clients based on space availability; conducting aftercare; facilitating a motivational and welcoming environment; ensuring that the Intake/Screening Unit and Support Services meet contract requirements. Must be able to sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith, as this is a Christian ministry.

Minimum Requirements: Must have an AA degree or previous on-the-job training in Social Work or a related field. CAP training is a plus. The Intake Coordinator must have knowledge of alcoholism and chemical dependency and homelessness. Requires the ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency and recognize symptoms of common mental and physical illnesses and make appropriate referrals for their treatment. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, and sexual orientation. Must be organized and computer literate. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Housing Case Manager I (HCM) reports to the Broward Programs Supervisor and provides case management services focused on assisting residents obtain housing in a timely manner. The HCM provides outcome reports per program guidelines and requirements. The HCM also works with the case management staff as directed by Supervisor in helping clients obtain housing and services related to housing.

Minimum Requirements: A High School diploma, GED, or previous on-the-job training in Social Work is required. Requires 1 - 2 years of experience in social work or homelessness. Is familiar with Harm Reduction and Housing First models of service delivery. Must be able to exercise independent judgment within the general framework of approved case management techniques, existing laws, and within Agency guidelines. Must possess knowledge of local agencies, programs, and resources in the community that will assist residents with obtaining housing in a timely manner. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and community partners of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, and sexual orientation. Must be organized and computer literate. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Housing Navigator (HN) reports to the Broward Programs Supervisor, and provides housing and supportive services to clients who are eligible for assistance. Employment is subject to annual contract negotiations with Broward County.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School diploma or GED, and at least 2 years of demonstrated experience with the homeless population. The HN must be knowledgeable of community housing resources available to residents. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software applications. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents and community partners in a professional and courteous manner. Also requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Must have a valid State of Florida driver’s license with no more than 4 points. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Truck Driver drives an assigned vehicle to pick up and deliver donations and/or purchased items such as furniture, clothes, etc. in Dade and Broward Counties. Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of 75 pounds. Maintains and keeps required supplies and safety equipment in truck. Conducts routine safety inspection of vehicles, and promptly reports all mechanical problems.

Minimum Requirements: Must have at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience, and a Florida Driver’s Class D License. Must have a safe driving record with no more than four (4) points max. Must be familiar with local streets and highways in Dade and Broward Counties. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Maintenance Worker performs preventive or routine maintenance and building repairs following OSHA guidelines and building codes as assigned by supervisor. May lockout or tag out unsafe or broken equipment. Duties include performing minor repairs to building fixtures, minor plumbing repairs, cleaning electrical fixtures and replacing bulbs, and touch-up painting. Performs needed carpentry to buildings as directed. Receives work orders and prints or sketches for the job. Estimates material requirements and tools or equipment needed to perform job. Sets up and operates wood working tools to cut forms and finish material for the job. Erects or dismantles structures; repairs or refinishes walls or structures; installs wood or metal parts; installs glass or replace broken glass as required; erects or dismantles roofing or siding; prepares irregular scaffolding; and paints interior and exterior walls. Help keep tools and equipment oiled and maintained in good working order.

Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or GED preferred. Minimum three (3) years building maintenance or construction experience in plumbing or carpentry. Will consider candidate with five (5) years of experience in building maintenance management or construction, plumbing, A/C and/or carpentry work in lieu of education. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Guest Services Assistant (GSA) monitors and oversees residential clients at the Center for Men. Duties include assisting with new resident orientation; providing general oversight of residents in the absence of management; ensuring that residents perform assigned chores; handling emergencies according to policies and procedures; providing operational support for events such as graduations and luncheons; and, coordinating transportation and/or laundry services for residents. Must be able to sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith, as this is a Christian ministry.

Minimum Requirements: High school graduate (or GED) with a valid driver’s license required. Must have one (1) year work experience in social services or security-related work. Available shifts: 8:00am to 4:30pm and 3:30pm to 12:00am including weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Lead Guest Services Assistant (LGSA) reports to the Guest Services Supervisor, and provides support in the coordination of resident services including: transportation, client schedules, maintenance, security, and special events. The LGSA will provide general oversight of the residents and facility in the absence of management personnel. Duties also include handling emergencies according to policies and procedures and notifying management of unusual incidents at occurrence or immediately thereafter. Must be able to sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith, as this is a Christian ministry.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School diploma or GED. College level coursework in social work or knowledge of addiction and relapse prevention highly preferred. Security training desirable. 1 year of experience in social services or security work required. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff, vendors, and supporters in a professional and courteous manner. Must be extremely organized and able to prioritize tasks. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

Emergency Services Case Manager (ESCM). There are 2 openings – 1 in Miami at the Center for Men, and the other at Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood. The Miami ESCM reports to the Emergency Services Supervisor, and the Hollywood ESCM reports to the Broward Programs Supervisor. The ESCM provides case management services, crisis intervention, support, and referral services for clients assigned to contracted emergency services programs. The ESCM will provide timely outcome reports per grogram guidelines and requirements. Monitors progress of residents, and refers them to appropriate agencies for assistance as needed. Schedule may include some nights and weekends.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School diploma or GED, and demonstrated experience of at least 1 year with the homeless population. A Bachelor’s degree and/or CAP training and 1-2 years of experience in social work is preferred. Must be able to exercise independent judgment within the general framework of approved case management techniques, existing laws and within agency policy. Must have the ability to recognize symptoms of common mental, physical, co-occurring, alcohol/substance abuse addictions to make proper assessment for care plans, referrals, and linkage with excellent follow up skills. Must possess knowledge of local community agencies, programs, and resources available for clients. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and staff of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, and sexual orientation. Must have the ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.

The Teaching Assistant (TA) reports to the Education Supervisor, and assists the supervisor in administering the education program including tutoring, diagnostic testing, monitoring students’ activities, motivating students, and record keeping. Must be able to sign the Mission’s Statement of Faith, as this is a Christian ministry.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a High School diploma and a minimum of 1 year of tutoring experience. Some college coursework preferred. Must be proficient in the use of computers, and have the ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English. Must be able to communicate effectively with compassion, and motivate residents to learn and improve their skills. Must be able to pass a Level II background screen and drug test.

Compensation: $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. Position is non-exempt.
